Moshy vs your GP: online consultations or in-person care
Moshy runs the consultation online by phone or video and bundles follow-ups, coaching and meal plans into one program fee; a GP sees you in person, with the consultation partly offset by Medicare. In both, a registered practitioner makes an individual decision about you. The differences are practical: speed, format, continuity, and what kind of case each one handles best.

Should you use Moshy or see your GP for weight loss?
Both are legitimate, and the right one depends on what you want from the process. A GP consultation is partly offset by Medicare and Moshy charges one program fee; which costs less depends on how often you are seen. Your GP holds your full history and can manage weight alongside the rest of your health, and is booked by appointment. Moshy runs the consultation online by phone or video and bundles follow-ups, coaching and meal plans into one program fee, with weight, hair and skin services under one brand. If continuity with one doctor matters most, start with your GP. If speed and convenience matter most, Moshy suits that better. Either way a registered Australian practitioner decides what is appropriate.

Telehealth trades continuity for convenience. Your GP holds your full history; Moshy works from your questionnaire and consultation. It offers a consultation by phone or video with no booking lead time and no waiting room.
For some people the GP's office is the better room. Anything urgent, unusual, or layered on top of other conditions belongs with a doctor in person.
Common questions
Is telehealth as legitimate as seeing a GP?+
For the straightforward case, yes. Australian telehealth providers use registered practitioners and operate under Australian health regulations. For anything complex, unusual, or urgent, an in-person doctor is the right setting, and a credible telehealth service will redirect you there anyway.
Which is cheaper, Moshy or a GP?+
A GP consultation is partly offset by Medicare; Moshy charges one program fee published on its own site. Neither is cheaper for everyone, so compare your own numbers.
Can I use both?+
Keeping your regular GP informed about anything you start through a telehealth service is sensible, and nothing about using one excludes the other. Continuity of care is worth protecting.
Does Moshy replace my regular doctor?+
No. It covers weight management through online consultations with a registered practitioner. Your GP remains the right person for your overall health, and for anything the online questionnaire is not designed to catch.
REFERRAL120 offer terms. New Moshy customers only, one use, on eligible Moshy weight programs, with a 3-month minimum commitment; terms on Moshy's sign-up page and in Moshy's terms.
