Get featured on Refer Labs, Australia's independent comparison platform
We compare providers across health, home energy and business, and reach Australians at the moment they are choosing. Placement is earned against published criteria and never bought, which is exactly why the traffic converts.
The independent alternative to a pay-to-rank directory
There are more providers than ever across health, home energy and business software, and the marketing budgets of the loudest players have no relationship to the quality of what they offer.
We are building a platform that cuts through that. Not a directory that charges to be listed, and not a review site anyone can game: a properly researched comparison that profiles the leading providers in each category, so Australians can decide based on something real.
We cover multiple options per category, across different approaches and price points, and every business we feature has been assessed against a clear set of criteria.
What we compare, and what we assess
Weight loss & telehealth
The online weight-loss space in Australia has grown fast, and quality ranges from properly supervised clinical programs to little more than a landing page and a script. We compare the providers Australians search for most and sort them on how the care is actually delivered.
We cover medically supervised telehealth programs and the pathways around them. Information only, never medical advice, and prescription treatment is always a decision for a registered practitioner.
What we evaluate
- Registered-practitioner assessment before any treatment
- Monitoring and follow-up, not just a prescription
- What is included in the subscription, and what costs extra
- Honest, non-misleading claims (no guaranteed outcomes)
Hair loss & men's health
Hair-loss and men's-health telehealth is fragmented, and clinics often default to their most profitable treatment rather than the most appropriate one. We profile providers that do a real assessment and explain the trade-offs honestly.
Telehealth providers and clinics across hair loss and broader men's health. Information only, not medical advice; treatment suitability is decided by a registered practitioner.
What we evaluate
- Diagnostic process, not photos-only
- Range of treatments offered and explained
- Clinical oversight and prescriber qualifications
- Whether follow-ups are built into the program
Home batteries & solar
Home battery and solar is a crowded, high-ticket category where marketing spend has no relationship to install quality. We compare installers on the things that are checkable, so households can tell a serious operator from a storefront.
Accredited installers and retailers of home batteries and solar. We weight verifiable credentials over sales polish, and how transparently the federal and state rebates are applied.
What we evaluate
- SAA accreditation and a real electrical licence
- Warranty terms and what they actually cover
- Systems sized from real usage, not sold as a package
- The rebate itemised and applied, not just implied
Business lending
Business finance is full of opaque pricing and factor rates that hide the true cost. We compare lenders and brokers on transparency and fit, and we tell borrowers the total dollar cost rather than a flattering headline rate.
Non-bank lenders, banks and finance brokers serving Australian businesses. Refer Labs is a referrer, not a credit provider; enquiries are assessed by the lender on its own criteria.
What we evaluate
- Rate and fee transparency, including the all-in dollar cost
- Clear eligibility and realistic funding timeframes
- Conduct standards (e.g. AFIA Code status)
- No 'guaranteed approval' or pressure tactics
Business software
The software that runs a business, CRM, websites and landing pages, email, HR and payroll, payments, is a maze of near-identical tools. We sort them by the job you need done and recommend by fit, not by who pays the most.
SaaS tools across sales and CRM, websites, email, HR, payments and AI. Some links are disclosed affiliate links, which never change a recommendation or the order tools appear in.
What we evaluate
- Genuine free trial or transparent pricing
- Fit for the specific job, not feature bloat
- Support quality and ease of switching in and out
- No lock-in or misleading 'from' pricing
Being featured means something because not everything is
Most comparison platforms list everything and rank by whoever pays the most. That works fine for the platform. It is bad for the person trying to make a real decision.
We take a different approach. Each category has a shortlist of providers we have assessed against criteria that actually matter: standards, transparency, pricing honesty, and the quality of the experience a real customer would have. The list stays small on purpose.
- Multiple options per category, not a single sponsored result
- Assessed against category-specific criteria, not just star ratings
- Updated regularly as the market changes
- Not a pay-to-rank model

Being featured on a genuinely independent, curated platform is different to appearing in a generic directory. It signals your business stands up to scrutiny, because placement is earned against published criteria rather than bought.
