How we make money
Refer Labs is free to use. We keep the lights on two ways, and we'd rather you know exactly how than wonder. Neither one lets a company buy a better ranking or a softer review.
1. Affiliate links
On most of the site, when you click through to a product we recommend and sign up, the provider may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and sometimes gets you a better deal than going direct. We only earn if you act on a recommendation, which is exactly why the recommendation has to be honest to be worth anything.
2. Lender referral commissions (business finance)
In our business loans section it works differently. You send us an enquiry, a person reviews it, and with your consent we introduce you to lenders on our panel. If one of those lenders funds your loan, they may pay Refer Labs a commission for the introduction.
Three things that are always true here:
- It never changes the rate or fees you're offered. The lender's price to you is the same whether you come through us or walk in the front door.
- Commission doesn't decide the order lenders appear in, or whether we tell you one fits. If a panel lender is wrong for you, we say so.
- We're a referrer, not a lender or a credit provider. We don't provide credit advice, and we never ask for bank statements, ID documents or logins.
The lines we don't cross
- Rankings are not for sale. A brand can't pay to rank higher or have a criticism removed.
- We don't invent testimonials, ratings or statistics. We never publish our own star ratings.
- We disclose commercial relationships on the pages they apply to, not buried in the footer.
