How Refer Labs works
Refer Labs is an independent Australian comparison site for telehealth and longevity. We compare weight-loss, hair-loss, men's and women's health, health insurance, sleep and longevity services on the same checklist, with every price read from the provider's own page and dated. Rankings can't be bought.

Our aim is to be the place Australians start when comparing telehealth and longevity services.
These are categories where the marketing is loud, the pricing is hard to compare like for like, and the decision matters, because it is about your health or a cost you will carry for years. Refer Labs builds one category at a time and compares it properly before adding the next.
- Weight lossOnline weight-management programs: how each works, what it includes and what it costs.
- Hair lossOnline hair-loss consultations and over-the-counter options, priced side by side.
- Men's healthOnline men's health clinics compared on consult model, price and bulk-billing.
- Women's healthWhat menopause care costs, with and without Medicare.
- Health insuranceWhich insurer issues each brand, and how their hospital policies compare.
- SleepMattresses, home sleep studies, CPAP and sleep trackers, in Australian dollars.
- LongevityHealth screening, recovery equipment and what the evidence says about supplements.
- Health & beautySkincare, devices and meal replacements from Australian retailers.
How a comparison is made
The same five steps for every provider, in this order. It is desk research: Refer Labs does not use most of what it covers and does not claim to, so pages describe the published process and link to the source so you can check it. The site holds 163 guides, comparisons and tools, and the public log keeps 14 dated checks.
Read the source
Price, inclusions, eligibility and terms come from the provider's own live page and published terms, never from an aggregator, a directory or a press release. Where a figure can only come from a third party, the page names that source.
Record the date
Every figure carries the day it was read. The observation log keeps every check rather than overwriting the last one.
Compare on the same rows
Every provider in a category is described on identical terms: how it works, what it includes, what it costs and any current offer. Where two tie on the facts, the page says so.
Disclose beside the link
Where a link pays Refer Labs, the page says so directly above it, in the partner's required wording where there is one.
Re-check and correct
A reported error is re-checked against the source and corrected in place or removed. Report one through the contact page; a provider disputing something gets the same process as a reader.
How providers are ordered
Category pages list providers alphabetically and do not rank them. Where a comparison names a first option, it applies the same checklist every time: price and inclusions, eligibility, what is bundled against what is billed separately, cancellation and refund terms, delivery and follow-up, and availability in Australia. Commission plays no part in the order, and a provider that pays nothing can sit above one that does.
How Refer Labs makes money
Some links pay Refer Labs a commission when a reader signs up or buys, at no extra cost to the reader, and each one is disclosed beside it. Refer Labs also does paid growth work for businesses. Neither buys a listing, a position or the removal of a criticism.
How Refer Labs makes moneyWhat we don't publish
- Star ratings of our own
- Any rating shown belongs to a named third party, so you can weigh the source.
- Testimonials or invented statistics
- None, in any category. On health pages this is also the law.
- Paid placement
- No provider has paid to be added, to rank higher or to have a criticism removed.
- Prescription medicine names
- Health pages describe the service, the process and the cost.
Discount codes and offers
Every code is printed in full, never hidden behind a click, with what it applies to and the date it was last confirmed on the provider's own page. Refer Labs holds 4 at present, and 15 offers carry the date each was checked. Confirm the final price with the provider before you pay.
See current offersHealth content
Health pages are general information, not medical advice. Prescription treatments in Australia are available only after assessment by a registered health practitioner, who decides what is appropriate. The pages describe services, costs and processes, never outcomes, so you arrive at a consultation knowing what it involves and what it costs.
