The comparison most pages get wrong
Search results for this question rank the two against each other and declare a winner. That framing only works for devices that do the same job, and these do not. One is used while you cleanse. The other is held against the face and emits light. Someone who buys the "winner" without noticing that ends up with a device that does not do the thing they wanted.

The one device that sits in both families is the LUNA 4 plus at A$659(read on 4 September 2026), which Foreo lists as "LED cleansing & microcurrent". It is the most expensive device across either line, so buying it to avoid choosing costs more than buying one of each of the entry models.

Foreo states up to 600 uses per single charge, and bacteria-resistant silicone, 100% waterproof. Note that 3 separate devices sat at A$329 on 4 September 2026: the face model, the scalp massager and the beard model. The price tells you nothing about which one suits you, so read the descriptions rather than the numbers.

On 4 September 2026 the line ran from A$119 to A$499, and Foreo's own descriptions do not explain what the extra A$380 buys beyond size and portability. Nor do they state session length or battery life for the UFO line anywhere on the page, which is the information you would want to compare a UFO against a mask.
Prices are Australian, which is not a given here
Foreo shows Australian visitors prices marked A$ on its own site, so the figures above are local list prices rather than a US number converted at whatever the rate was that day. Enough of this category quotes US pricing at Australian readers that it is worth stating which you are looking at. Both pages also show a "lowest price in 30 days" line, which means the list price is not always the price.

Foreo held an Australian therapeutic-goods registration and gave it up
Foreo Oceania Pty Ltd was the sponsor of ARTG entry 288695, a blue-light phototherapy lamp, home-use. It was cancelled at the sponsor's own request, listed by the TGA under cancellations by sponsors, effective 5 October 2023. Read on the TGA's own site on 4 September 2026. We could find no current ARTG entry for a LUNA or a UFO, though the register's search blocks automated queries, so treat that as a gap in our checking rather than a finding.
What it tells you is worth more than a marketing line. A device represented for a therapeutic purpose is regulated in Australia and should appear on the register. Inclusion means a device met the requirements for lawful supply here. It is not a promise about results, and a product name containing the word therapy is not evidence of either. Search the ARTG yourself, by brand or by sponsor, before reading any name as a regulatory status.
It is also why the UFO table above describes each model by what it emits rather than repeating the marketing name. We are not in a position to say these devices do anything therapeutic, so we do not describe them as though they do.
